Cape Epic, The untamed African MTB race

Darryl Chiles_ Cape Epic

Coach Darryl Chiles is another example of someone who thoroughly enjoys testing his endurance levels to the limit. Not only had he come off the back of the Cape Epic MTB challenge which took him over some challenging terrain over a 5 day period with the last day being 1st April 2012, he then decided to compete in the 22km Trail run,Two Oceans Race.

The trail race was held the day before, 6th April 2012, the 56km and 21km Two Oceans events, so fortunately Darryl was not subjected to the challenging weather experienced in the half and ultra. A tough course nevertheless, again taking in some major mountainous climbs including Devils Peak! yet Darryl  finished in a remarkable time of 2:24 in which he was placed 30th overall in a field of 800 runners. A great achievement, congratulations Darryl.

Still keen to compete, Darryl has energy left in the tank and will be partaking in the 127km trail run on the  Jurassic Coast in Uk on the 21st April 2012. Good luck!!
